05/06/09 - LORD HANNINGFIELD WELCOMES OVERWHELMING CONSERVATIVE ENDORSEMENT

I am delighted and honoured that the people of Essex have so overwhelmingly endorsed the Conservative party at this election.

Choice is central to democracy and this result shows that the Essex people have chosen a party that is dedicated to delivering quality services and value for money. Our work will continue. We are more committed than ever to making Essex the very best place to live in Britain. 

I am also very pleased that the BNP has failed to make any really impact. The vast majority of the people of Essex have rejected the politics and policies of extremism, intolerance and hatred. 

I would also like to pay tribute to those members, of all parties, that have served on Essex County Council during the past four years and for their hard work and dedication to their constituents.

We exist to serve the people of Essex and that is what we will do over the next four years with commitment and dedication, delivering on what is important to them and their communities.
